comfortably installed in d.bai, after rather unpleasant flights (involving screaming wailing babies on airplane, %^*@&$). also slept for most of today, after having slept a grand total of 2 hours the night before i left london.

first impressions? it's sandy. and also cosmopolitan. buildings springing up literally everywhere, loads of skyscrapers. overly irrigated, there's a rumour that 50% of irrigation goes towards maintaining the golf courses, like wtf!?
