a couple

parents off somewhere for the weekend, hence the babysitting duties have duly fallen onto my (rather wide) lap. i'd just dropped off my sis at the tuition centre and was taking the long walk back just now, as dusk gradually set in...

two random ponders

1-
i saw this cloud in the sky, it was so pretty and picturesque (literally), michelangelo-esque formation with broad orange tints and rough swirls.

suddenly the most random thought about the cloud popped into my head:

being the agnostic that i am,

"if there was a heaven above, maybe that would be it"

2-

the next ponder came from a progression of thoughts

i was sweating like a pig as i 'power-walked' (i. hate. the. humidity.) and muttered to myself about how unfit i was am. which naturally led me to think about rugby. which in turn set off a string of other thoughts, including this:

i'm still young enough to do things just for fun, for thrills. like the l.o. stint.

in other words, one day i may be forced to choose obligations, ulterior motives, grown-up reasons to do things.

i've met so many adults who live such scary lives. like that guy who became an l.o. so that he could get business contacts (like wtf?). or several of my ex-colleagues - make that the majority of s'poreans, actually - who do o/t just because: just because everyone else is doing it. not necessarily because they have too much work to do. just because.

right now i so very much want to do a peter pan and never grow up. never.

but who am i kidding?

back to miles & scott, and pemberton & rau.
