day 1

it was back to uni today, in the london winter cold, squeezing onto the bus at 0830 in the morning, listening with trepidation to lecturers warning about the dire consequences of slacking off and inconsistent effort, trying to french-english translate an academic journal article in the colder-than-usual library, walking to the bus station with teh and wandering off to buy a krispy kreme donut for me and a cornish pasty for her, but u-turning and running back to the bus stop after spotting the arrival of our bus, preparing a smoked salmon bagel for lunch..

i'm feeling a lot better already than i did a week ago

the skies may be gloomy nowadays but i hope, finger crossed and all, that my own grey clouds are gone. for good.

how about short term resolutions then
- play (rugby) hard and stay 2nd in the league, if not overthrow essx!
- study harder
- concentrate on what's really important
- keep in touch

and to bear in mind dear jx's happy motto

it could be much worse!
