oh my gosh, yesterday was the first and last time i'll ever splurge so much on a dim sum meal. nevermind that the restaurant was fantastically designed, the dim warm lighting, black tables, teal cushioned benches and brown wooden panels evocative of a modern-era shanghai triad 'lao3 di4 fang1', and nevermind that the prawns in the chee cheong fun were oh-my-god succulent and large!
these sort of lunches can only happen once (or once-a-year, heh). but most memorable part of lunch was that it lasted 3 hours, lp and i got to talk a lot (went through 2 pots of great chinese tea, and then lemon-infused tap water), i discovered some things i didn't know and came away with a head buzzing.
today i'm gonna try something very, very uncharacteristic. we'll see if it works out.
i've got a feeling it's gonna be an interesting summer.
.
got a management course lined up for thursday and friday, yesterday i found myself staring at the 21-page deutsche bank brief for one of the case studies and found myself thinking !??... i'm just gonna take a deep breath, plunge right in and see how it goes. after all, have got nothing to lose (such a useful mantra nowadays)
.
how long before i get in
before it starts, before i begin
how long before you decide
before i know what it feels like
where to?
Where do i go?
if you've never tried then you'll never know
how long do i have to climb
up on the side of this mountain of mine
look up, i look up at night
planets are moving at the speed of light
climb up, up in the trees
every chance that you get
is a chance you seize
how long am i gonna stand
with my head stuck under the sand
i start before i can stop
before i see things the right way up
all that noise, and all that sound
all those places i have found
and birds go flying at the speed of sound
to show you how it all began
birds came flying from the underground
if you could see it then you'd understand
