london calling
this week's londonponder:
bgr here is very different from back in s'pore. i know it's a stupidly obvious statement, but it is something to ponder about.
i don't know what to make of it yet. sometimes it makes me uncomfortable, but other times i find myself relishing the more liberal attitudes around me.
i feel like i live in a bloody soap opera. people getting attached, almost getting attached, nearly getting attached and then splitting up before they've even gotten attached... this is what happens when you've got 10 guys downstairs and 8 girls upstairs.
we (meaning flatmates) went to the rocket (popular student club-pub) yesterday night and there were 2 couples among us. there were times i just wanted to shut my eyes or look at the ceiling because all the mushiness was getting a bit ott. it's like you're dancing, then suddenly you realise all the single people are sitting down to take a breather, leaving the couple(s) on the dance floor, and immediately you're forced to hastily retreat as well, leaving the two of them in their own world.
next week is reading week, there'll be no classes or tutorials. time to get down to some serious work. and london touring. :)
