economics
contrary to popular opinion, staying in london during summer and not returning to singapore can make sense/cents (ugly pun, but gets my point across i suppose).
people have been saying, won't it be cheaper to fly back to singapore and stay there through summer, rather than having to sustain your life in london for three/ four whole months?.
aha, but that's not logical is it?
the return air ticket costs money, and i'll definitely be spending S$$$ while i'm in singapore.
if i stay in london, work and earn enough £££ so that i have a zero balance (i.e. Y = C + S where S = 0, i.e. Y = C), or better still, some money leftover to save (Y = C + S where S>0, so that S = I = future C), then i can't see how that can be more expensive than going back to singapore, where i wouldn't be working if i were to go back.
the crucial thing in all of this, therefore, is the work part.
il me faudra bien travailler.
