grocery shopping

is a pain when there are loads of people trying to shop as well. this usually occurs at the end of the working day, i.e. late afternoon - early evening, as people pile into the supermarket to buy their essentials and more

this phenomenon peaks at the weekend - as evinced by my trip to sainsburys camden a few hours ago. isles packed with trollies, mothers screaming for their kids to "get back here or else mummy's going to cry!" (i kid you not - it actually freaked me out), check-out counters busy as can be

gave me a headache

there was even a very 'pr' announcement along the lines of "dear shoppers all our check out counters are operating at the moment, thank you for your patience nananahh.."

also did my laundry yesterday for the first time in about, i dunno, 1.5 weeks? took 3 washes, and lot of time. coincidentally sal also did her washing yesterday and we had a mini-dialogue about comment il prend vraiment du temps pour faire certaines choses comme les linges

blog surfing is voyeuristic yes but especially agreeable when one has the good fortune of chancing upon an interesting blog be it in terms of content or writing style. it's like reading a fiction novel sometimes, only that you know (or at least assume) that what's being written is actually probably quite true, i.e. happening in real life, parallel to your own
