brokeback mountain

in the end it was a love story, and (leaving the whole homosexual thing aside for the moment) there were a few key emotionally-charged scenes that reduced me to a blubbering teary wreck

there's been a lot of talk about this being a "gay cowboy movie", about the same-sex element of their relationship. but that gender/political/sociological dimension aside -

when you watch a movie, knowing the actual story's not real, and end up crying anyway... there's gotta be some fundamentally human emotional element tugging at your heartstrings. and kudos to the film-makers actors scriptwriters etc for creating such powerful "moments" in the film
