dance away

i guess i always knew that guys here would be more daring when it comes to approaching girls and dancing with them (and by dancing i usually mean gyrating and lots of body contact). but that doesn't mean i'll ever be able to completely accept that and be comfortable with it. just because i'm having the time of my life dancing, doesn't mean "look-at-me-dancing-wildly-because-i-want-guys-to-come-dance-with-me". for goodness sakes. it's just all so primitive and sexual. and the whole concept of "pulling" (kissing someone in a random manner) just disturbs me.

the last 4 or 5 thursday nights have been spent at the rocket, moving to anything from retro to cheesy pop to r&b. last night msh's friend steve, who's this really good-looking 2nd year student and reputedly a "player", and whom i also discovered is in rugby (it took him quite awhile to convince me), albeit only the 3rds, said goodbye smooching all of us. i'm not kidding. like full-on lips. i was too stunned. he even did ant from upstairs, who is, well, a guy. and apparently he tongued yam. and then happily proclaimed something about "swingers!" before taking off.

we were all still reeling from the shock after he left, then it was all "ew!", "i can't believe he just did that!" i tell you, there are some really out-of-this-world characters around.

clubs are definitely dirty places. the hedonism is both liberating and irksome. but then again, that's london for you.
